Hyperliquid front ends compared
Sixteen ways into the same order book, compared by what they add to your fee, where they run and who they suit.
Every Hyperliquid front end fills on the same order book, so the real difference is the builder fee added on top of Hyperliquid's own fee. The official app (app.hyperliquid.xyz) adds none; terminals such as Axiom and Insilico add 1 bp (0.01%), Based 2.5 bps, Rabby 4, Phantom 5, and MetaMask and Trust Wallet the 10 bp maximum. On $10,000 of entry-tier taker volume that is $4.50 on the official app against $14.50 on MetaMask (published rates and Hyperliquid's builder-fill data, November 2, 2026).
The one number that differs: the builder fee
Whichever app you use, your order fills on Hyperliquid’s order book at Hyperliquid’s prices, and Hyperliquid charges its own fee (0.045% taker and 0.015% maker on crypto perps at the entry tier). Front ends earn through builder codes: an extra fee per fill that you approve once, capped by Hyperliquid at 0.1% on perps and 1% on spot (sell side only). So the useful comparison is the builder fee, plus what you get for it: a phone app, better order types, charts, social features, or a wallet you already use.
Fees below are each project’s published rate, checked against Hyperliquid’s public builder-fills archive for November 2, 2026 (the archive shows what every fill actually paid). Where a project publishes nothing, we show what was observed onchain and say so.
Comparison table
Ordered by builder fee on crypto perps, lowest first. Cost columns are Hyperliquid’s tier-0 taker fee plus the builder fee, per $10,000 traded. “HIP-3” means a trade.xyz stock or index market with growth mode on, where Hyperliquid’s own fee drops to 0.009%.

”—” means not offered or not published. A referral code lowers only Hyperliquid’s part (4% off), never the builder fee. To plug in your own volume tier, staking and market, use the fee calculator.
Who each is for
Hyperliquid app (official). The reference point: no builder fee, every market (perps, HIP-3, spot, HIP-4 outcomes, vaults, staking) and the same order book everyone else routes to. Connect an EVM wallet or sign in with email. If cost matters most, start here; our step-by-step guide walks through it. Open Hyperliquid (applies our referral code, 4% off fees on your first $25M).
trade.xyz. The largest HIP-3 deployer (stocks, indices, commodities, pre-IPO perps) and its own app. Its markets also trade on the official app and most front ends. trade.xyz documents its market fees but not a front-end builder fee. Open trade.xyz (same Hyperliquid referral).
Insilico Terminal and Axiom (1 bp). Insilico is a free pro terminal that also connects to centralized exchanges: chase, swarm, TWAP and scale orders, hotkeys and a command line. Axiom is a Solana memecoin terminal with a Hyperliquid perps tab and an embedded wallet; good if you already live in Axiom, less so as a full perps desk. Open Axiom.
HyperDash (1.5 bps). Best known for Hyperliquid analytics (whale tracking, liquidation maps), with a trading terminal and copy trading on top. Copy trading can add up to 5 bps.
Based (2.5 bps). A pro web terminal plus iOS and Android apps, with prediction markets and a Visa card in the same account. Its 0.2 bps on growth-mode HIP-3 perps makes it one of the cheapest ways to trade trade.xyz stock markets from a phone; spot sells cost 10 bps.
Markets.xyz (1 bp on crypto perps). Kinetiq’s trading app. Its HIP-3 builder fee starts at 5 bps and falls with volume to 0.5 bps. Details in the Kinetiq dossier.
pvp.trade (up to 4 bps). A Telegram bot for trading perps in group chats, with copy-trading and leaderboards. The fee falls as you level up; its docs give conflicting spot-sell rates, so check the fee in the bot.
Rabby (4 bps). For people who already use Rabby as their EVM wallet. Its perps tab is convenient, but you can also connect Rabby to the official app and skip the builder fee.
fomo (~5 bps observed). A social trading app: see what friends and followed traders buy, then trade perps including trade.xyz markets. fomo doesn’t publish a perps rate; 90% of its core-perp volume paid 5 bps on November 2. Open fomo.
Phantom (5 bps). The simplest path for Phantom and Solana users: pay with SOL or USDC on Solana and trade from the phone. On HIP-3 markets most volume paid 8.7 bps. Open Phantom.
Pear Protocol (6 bps each way). Pair and basket trades (long one asset, short another) in one click. The fee is charged once across all legs, so it can be cheaper than opening each leg yourself on a front end that charges per leg.
Dexari (10 bps at entry tier). A full-featured mobile app for Hyperliquid power users: 300+ markets, cross or isolated margin, TWAP and scale orders. Its fee page lists 0.10% under $500k of 30-day volume, falling to 0.01% above $10M, though most core-perp fills on November 2 paid 3 bps.
MetaMask and Trust Wallet (10 bps). The convenience of perps inside the wallet you already have, at Hyperliquid’s maximum builder fee. MetaMask publishes 0.1432% taker / 0.1144% maker all-in. If you hold funds in either, connecting the same wallet to the official app costs a third as much at the entry tier.
pump.fun (not verified). Perps inside the memecoin launchpad’s app. Its fee page couldn’t be checked; secondary reports range from 0.04% to 0.10% per order plus a transfer fee, so read the fee shown before you sign. Open pump.fun.
How we compared
- Order: builder fee on crypto perps, lowest first, from each project’s own fee page. Where a project publishes nothing, we used the rate most of its volume paid in Hyperliquid’s builder-fills archive on November 2, 2026, and label it “observed.”
- Not considered: who pays us. We have referral codes for Hyperliquid, trade.xyz, Phantom, fomo, Axiom and pump.fun; they are marked by the “Open” links above and don’t affect order or wording. Disclosure.
- Not compared: order execution quality. Every front end routes to the same Hyperliquid order book, so prices and liquidity are the same; differences come from order types, latency and how each app handles slippage settings.
- Size of each: DefiLlama tracks builder revenue on Hyperliquid by front end; over the 30 days to November 4, 2026, MetaMask, fomo, Trust Wallet and Phantom each earned more than $1.4M in builder fees.
Risks that apply to all of them
- Builder approvals stay active until you revoke them, and each account can hold at most 10. Approve only front ends you use.
- Embedded wallets (email or social sign-in in Phantom, Based, fomo, Axiom, Dexari and others) are only as safe as the provider’s key setup. Learn how to export your key before you deposit size.
- Leverage. Perps can liquidate your whole margin. Read how perpetual futures work and funding rates first.
- Lookalike sites copy front ends too. Use the URLs on our official links page.
Questions people ask
What is the cheapest way to trade on Hyperliquid?
The official app at app.hyperliquid.xyz, because it adds no builder fee: you pay only Hyperliquid's fee, 0.045% taker and 0.015% maker on perps at the entry tier. A referral code takes 4% off that for your first $25M of volume, and staking HYPE takes 5% to 40% off.
What is a Hyperliquid builder fee?
A fee a front end adds to each order it sends to Hyperliquid for you. You approve a maximum once per front end (and can revoke it); Hyperliquid caps it at 0.1% on perps and 1% on spot, and on spot it only applies when you sell.
Which Hyperliquid front end has the lowest fees?
Apart from the official app (no builder fee), Axiom and Insilico Terminal publish 1 bp (0.01%) and HyperDash 1.5 bps. Based charges 2.5 bps on crypto perps but only 0.2 bps on growth-mode HIP-3 perps such as most trade.xyz stock markets.
Is Phantom or MetaMask cheaper for Hyperliquid perps?
Phantom. Phantom documents a 0.05% builder fee and MetaMask's all-in rates include 0.1%, so $10,000 of entry-tier taker volume costs about $9.50 through Phantom and $14.50 through MetaMask ($14.32 with MetaMask's own referral discount).
Is there an official Hyperliquid mobile app?
Hyperliquid's support guide lists an official Android app (xyz.hyperliquid.app); the web app also works in a mobile browser. Most iPhone users trade through third-party apps such as Phantom, MetaMask, Based, fomo or Dexari, which add builder fees.
Can Americans use Hyperliquid front ends?
Hyperliquid's terms restrict the US and Ontario, and front ends add their own limits: MetaMask, Phantom, fomo and Dexari say their perps aren't available in the US. A different interface doesn't change those rules.
