Short answer

The cheapest way to trade Hyperliquid with a wallet is to connect any EVM wallet to app.hyperliquid.xyz, which adds no builder fee. Wallets and apps with their own perps tab add one on top of Hyperliquid's fee: 2.5 bps at Based, 4 bps at Rabby, 5 bps at Phantom and fomo, and 10 bps (the maximum) at MetaMask and Trust Wallet, per published rates and Hyperliquid's builder-fill data for November 2, 2026.

Two different things people mean by “Hyperliquid wallet”

  1. A wallet you connect to the official app. Hyperliquid’s own exchange at app.hyperliquid.xyz works with ordinary EVM wallets. You sign in, deposit USDC, and trade on Hyperliquid’s order book. There is no builder fee: you pay only Hyperliquid’s fee schedule (0.045% taker, 0.015% maker at the entry tier).
  2. A wallet or app with its own perps tab. MetaMask, Phantom, Rabby, Trust Wallet and apps such as fomo, Dexari and Based send your orders to the same Hyperliquid order book from inside their own interface. They earn a builder fee: an extra charge Hyperliquid lets a front end add to each fill, capped at 0.1% on perps, which you approve once.

The order book, prices and liquidation rules are Hyperliquid’s in both cases. What changes is the fee, the screen you trade on, and which regions the app blocks.

“Observed” means we read the rate from Hyperliquid’s public builder-fill archive for November 2, 2026, because the app doesn’t publish one or publishes a different one. HIP-3 markets are permissionless perp markets, such as stock and commodity perps, run by deployers who stake 500,000 HYPE. Every option in the table can trade them.

Any EVM wallet on the official app

Who it’s for: anyone who wants the lowest cost and doesn’t need trading inside a wallet app.

Phantom’s help center says you can connect Phantom at app.hyperliquid.xyz and trade with no builder fee, and EVM wallets such as Rabby and MetaMask connect the same way. The official app covers perps, HIP-3 markets, spot and outcome markets, on the web and as a Google Play app. Bookmark the address from our official links page, since lookalike domains are common. Based

Who it’s for: active traders who want one account across a web terminal and phone apps.

Based documents a 0.025% builder fee on perps and 0.002% on growth-mode perps (mostly trade.xyz’s equity markets), with 0.1% on spot sells. Staking its BASED token cuts the builder fee by 30% to 100%. Sign-up with email or Google creates an embedded wallet whose key you can export. Based’s FAQ says Phantom can’t sign HyperEVM transactions on Based and recommends Rabby or MetaMask. Based dossier.

Rabby

Who it’s for: DeFi users who already keep funds in Rabby.

Rabby’s help center documents a 0.04% builder fee on top of Hyperliquid’s fees, and on November 2, 2026, 92% of its core-perp and 99.6% of its HIP-3 builder volume paid exactly 4 bps. Its perps documentation is thin: Rabby doesn’t publish maximum leverage or restricted regions. Rabby dossier.

fomo

Who it’s for: mobile-first, social traders who want perps in the same app as their spot tokens and feed.

fomo, from FOMO Labs Inc., added perps powered by Hyperliquid and Trade[XYZ] on June 11, 2026. It doesn’t publish a perps fee; its terms say the fee is shown before you confirm. On November 2, 2026, about 90% of its core-perp builder volume paid 5 bps. Key export and recovery depend on Privy, a third-party wallet provider. fomo dossier.

Phantom

Who it’s for: people who already use Phantom and want a simple phone flow.

Phantom’s help center lists 0.095% per position operation: 0.05% to Phantom plus Hyperliquid’s 0.045%. HIP-3 fills mostly paid 8.7 bps on November 2, 2026. Margin is isolated only, the first deposit carries a 1 USDC activation fee, and perps don’t work with Ledger hardware wallets. Phantom dossier.

Dexari

Who it’s for: phone-first traders who want a full order-type set and stocks, commodities and forex alongside crypto.

Dexari’s fee page lists 0.10% on perps under $500k of 30-day volume, falling to 0.01% above $10M. Onchain, 97% of its core-perp builder volume paid 3 bps on November 2, 2026, while HIP-3 fills paid 10 bps; Dexari doesn’t explain the gap. Its FAQ says Dexari itself has not had a third-party audit. Dexari dossier.

MetaMask

Who it’s for: people who live in MetaMask and value funding from almost any EVM token over price.

MetaMask lists 0.1432% taker and 0.1144% maker all-in, which works out to a 10 bps builder fee, the perps maximum. Withdrawals carry a variable Relay provider fee plus 0.875% to most tokens (waived for USDC on Arbitrum and the Money Account). MetaMask dossier.

Trust Wallet

Trust Wallet has a perps feature on iOS, Android and its extension. It doesn’t appear in our dossiers yet, so we only state what the chain shows: on November 2, 2026, 100% of its core-perp and HIP-3 builder volume paid 10 bps. How we compared

We ordered the options by perps builder fee, lowest first, using each app’s published rate where it has one and Hyperliquid’s builder-fill archive for November 2, 2026 where it doesn’t; all rates were checked on November 4, 2026. Ties keep the same order as our front ends comparison. We also list HIP-3 fees, platforms, custody and documented region limits from each project’s own pages. Cost per $10,000 uses Hyperliquid’s 0.045% entry-tier taker fee plus the builder fee; MetaMask’s $14.32 is its own published all-in rate, which includes a 4% discount on Hyperliquid’s part. We never rank by who pays us; a referral relationship doesn’t move an app up this list.

Whatever you use, perps are leveraged: a move against you can liquidate your whole margin. Read how perpetual futures work and model your own costs in the fee calculator.
