What fomo is
fomo is a social crypto trading app run by FOMO Labs Inc., a Delaware company. You see what friends and top traders buy, follow them, and get alerts when they open positions. It started on mobile, added a web version on April 29, 2026, and trades spot tokens on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Monad and Robinhood Chain.
On June 11, 2026, fomo’s blog announced “Perpetuals, now on fomo”, powered by Hyperliquid and Trade[XYZ]. Orders go to HyperCore, Hyperliquid’s trading engine and order book. Markets include crypto perps and HIP-3 markets (permissionless perp markets run by deployers who stake 500,000 HYPE), such as trade.xyz’s equity, index, commodity and pre-IPO perps. Positions use isolated margin, support take-profit and stop-loss, and show up in the social feed and leaderboards.
What it costs
fomo earns through a Hyperliquid builder fee, an extra charge on each fill. Unlike most front ends, fomo doesn’t publish a perps fee number. Its terms (section 7) say fomo charges a fee on transactions, that it depends on size, type, token and routing, that it is shown before you confirm, and that it can change at any time. Hyperliquid’s fees are charged separately.
So we checked the chain. On November 2, 2026, Hyperliquid’s public builder-fills archive showed:
| fomo perps | Observed builder fee (Nov 2, 2026) | Official Hyperliquid app |
|---|---|---|
| Core perps | 5 bps on about 90% of volume (effective 4.6 bps) | none |
| HIP-3 markets | effective 4.5 bps | none |
| Hyperliquid taker fee, entry tier | 0.045% | 0.045% |
At the 5 bps most trades paid, $10,000 of taker volume costs about $9.50 ($4.50 to Hyperliquid plus $5.00 to fomo), against $4.50 on the official app. Because the rate isn’t published, read the fee line in the app before each trade. The fee calculator lets you test other rates.
How to use it
- Install fomo from the App Store or Google Play (developer FOMO Labs Inc.), or open fomo.family on the web.
- Create an account. fomo sets up a non-custodial wallet on Privy for you.
- Fund it with crypto or Apple Pay.
- Open a perps market, pick long or short, leverage and size, and add a take-profit or stop-loss.
- Check the displayed fee and liquidation price, then confirm.
Risks and limits
- Leverage. fomo’s terms note that perps losses can exceed your initial margin, and that fomo is not the counterparty: Hyperliquid and Trade[XYZ] handle execution, liquidation and settlement. fomo’s pages don’t state leverage limits; check them in the app. See how perpetual futures work.
- Social copying. Following other traders can pull you into crowded, high-leverage trades.
- Unpublished fee. The rate can change and is only visible at confirmation.
- Wallet dependency. fomo’s terms say key export and recovery depend on Privy, and fomo doesn’t promise them.
- Identity checks. fomo may require verification before you can trade perps.
- Region limits. fomo says perps aren’t available to U.S. Persons or anyone in the US. Hyperliquid’s own terms restrict the US and Ontario.
Who it suits, and alternatives
fomo suits mobile-first, social traders who want perps in the same app as their spot tokens and feed. If you trade often, a published, lower fee may suit you better: the official app charges no builder fee, Rabby charges 4 bps and Based 2.5 bps. Other app-style options are Phantom, Dexari and pump.fun. Compare them in Hyperliquid front ends compared.
fomo said on October 28, 2026 that it will support Kinetiq’s Elysium from day one, November 9, 2026. That is announced, not live. fomo also runs an application-based affiliate program for creators; it doesn’t publish a commission rate.
