At the entry tier Hyperliquid charges 0.045% taker / 0.015% maker on perps and 0.070% / 0.040% on spot, so a $10,000 market order on a crypto perp costs $4.50 on the official app ($4.32 with a referral code). Wallets and apps add a builder fee on top, from 1 bp (Axiom, Insilico) to the 0.1% maximum (MetaMask, Trust Wallet). Fee schedule checked November 4, 2026.

How the formula works
- Staking multiplies your tier's rate by (1 − discount): Diamond (40% off) turns 0.045% into 0.027%.
- Referral code: 4% off Hyperliquid's fee for your first $25M of volume. It applies to taker fees and positive maker fees, not to rebates or builder fees. Ours is DEXSHEET; every valid code gives the same 4%. See referral code.
- HIP-3 markets scale the fee by the deployer's fee scale s: × (1 + s) below 1, × 2s from 1 to 3. At s = 1, fees are 2× (0.090% taker), half going to the deployer. Growth mode multiplies fees, rebates and volume credit by 0.1, so tier-0 taker drops to 0.009%.
- Stablecoin spot pairs (e.g. USDT0/USDC) charge 80% less.
- Aligned quote assets get 20% lower taker fees and 50% better maker rebates on the protocol's share.
- Builder fees are added per order by the front end you use, at most 0.1% on perps and 1% on spot (sell side only). The official app adds none.
Fees go to the community side of the protocol (HLP, the assistance fund and deployers), and the assistance fund's HYPE is burned, per the same docs page.
Questions people ask
What are Hyperliquid trading fees?
At the entry tier (under $5M of 14-day volume) Hyperliquid charges 0.045% taker and 0.015% maker on perps, and 0.070% taker and 0.040% maker on spot. Fees fall across seven volume tiers to 0.024% taker and 0% maker on perps above $7B.
How much does a $10,000 trade cost on Hyperliquid?
A $10,000 market (taker) order on a crypto perp costs $4.50 at the entry tier on the official app, or $4.32 with a referral code. Front ends add their builder fee on top: $1.00 more at 1 bp (Axiom, Insilico), $5.00 more at 5 bps (Phantom) and $10.00 more at the 0.1% maximum (MetaMask, Trust Wallet).
How does the 14-day volume tier work?
Hyperliquid adds your last 14 days of perps volume to twice your spot volume, assesses it at the end of each UTC day, and applies one fee tier to all perps, HIP-3 and spot trades. Sub-account volume counts toward the master account; vaults are separate.
Does staking HYPE lower fees?
Yes. Staking more than 10 HYPE gives 5% off, rising to 10%, 15%, 20%, 30% and 40% off at more than 100, 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 and 500,000 HYPE staked.
Why are HIP-3 stock perps fees different?
HIP-3 markets charge the deployer's fee share on top: at the usual deployer fee scale of 1.0 the fee is 2x a validator perp (0.090% taker at tier 0). Deployers can turn on growth mode, which cuts all-in fees by at least 90%; on November 4, 2026, 115 of trade.xyz's 120 live markets had growth mode on (0.009% taker at tier 0).
What is a builder fee?
A builder fee is an extra fee a front end (wallet, app or terminal) adds to each order it sends to Hyperliquid for you. You approve a maximum once; Hyperliquid caps it at 0.1% on perps and 1% on spot, and spot builder fees only apply when selling. The official app charges none.
